Why Do I Care?

Making the decision to live a healthier life is one of the hardest I've ever made. There is so much noise when you take the plunge to lose significant weight. Try this diet, but don't do this workout. It is absolutely overwhelming. Ultimately it came down to sheer determination and a strong desire to finally making a lasting change. You simply aren't alone in this journey and I want to share mine just in case it gives you that spark to find that determination.

As far back as I can remember I've always been a little over weight. Throughout my life I have always had an intense love of food, both comforting home cooked dishes and refined and elegant coursed meals. I took this love and morphed it into a degree in the Culinary Arts. When you work in a professional kitchen you are constantly tasting, moving, sweating and moving. While it's easy to gain weight in this environment I maintained. It was when I left the professional cooking world that things went downhill.

My new found skills inspired luscious and fattening dishes that tickled my taste buds, but also expanded the waistline. Going through a divorce, getting remarried, having two kids lent itself to giving myself to everyone, but myself. I lost the desire to be active, to explore healthy foods, and focus on self care. The spark for change came after I had my daughter Molly. I bent over to tie my shoes and I became winded.

Enough was enough, I was 275 pounds and the biggest I had ever been in my life. I personally had tried Keto, Intermittent Fasting, and straight up starving myself, but nothing worked. Finally I tried Noom and that worked wonders for me. It helped give me a new lifestyle. And no this isn't a paid endorsement, this just worked for me. I can say I am down 60 pounds and I have lost over 40 inches and still have plans to keep losing.

So what the heck does this have to do with Apples & Pears? The first 60 pounds saw me drop 3 full sizes. Read that again 3 FULL SIZES! It was one of the most gratifying experiences, but the idea of spending hundreds upon hundreds of dollars on a wardrobe between sizes made me want to scream. I worked hard for this brand new butt that I love and I wanted jeans to compliment them. Apples & Pears gives you 4 personally styled pieces of clothing for both plus size and regular sizes. We allow you to return your clothes each month and exchange sizes. You hit a plateau and haven't changed sizes? Don't worry stay in that size, but tell us what feature you've been working on and we will highlight it!

Apples & Pears is unique in that we get it. We are simply the best option for women who are losing weight or gaining weight. We will empower you to feel good in this new body you are shaping. We can't wait to work with you!
