My Weight Loss Evolution

I’ve always been the “big” girl and losing weight has always been a challenge.

In 2014, I set out to lose weight and lost 50lbs on a very restrictive diet that was pushing the line on being unhealthy. I was able to keep the weight off until 2016 when my mom died. The grief weight then latched on and I gained the 50lbs lost back plus some, putting me at my heaviest weight of 310lbs.

In 2019, I made the decision to love myself first and that included learning to fuel my body with food, rather than use it as an emotional vessel. I’ve started intermittent fasting and, increased my activity, all while trying to make better choices on what foods I’m eating.

My change in diet and exercise had helped me stay clear of my heaviest weight, my journey is still a roller coaster, which causes my clothes to fluctuate greatly in how they fit.

Clothing for me is a huge trigger, often causing anxiety. Which is why Apples & Pears is a godsend. Their fashionable options, and size inclusion allow me to be able to size up or down depending on how my weight journey is going. I have a long way to go, but feel relieved that there is an affordable option for me to have clothes that fit no matter where I’m at! The fashion team is amazing there, and never shame you for where you’re at, so if I do need to go up a size one month, there isn’t that stress.

I’m finding that having Apples & Pears in my tool box is helping me stay motivated, and supported so I can continue this weight loss journey in a judgement free zone. I’m so thankful to have this supportive company to help me on the road to health!
